The reason i have taken this course is because it helps me learn about my passion which will help me grow my family business and take it to new heights. I am a business administration student. I chose this major because it will help me understand businesses better. I am most interested in learning about how large firms successfully market new products in the world. I am really passionate about learning about how stocks play a crucial role in a market. I have also started to do research and invest in some interesting companies.
 Topic 2:
The article i have chosen from Business Insider asks the question "Should you be scared of Amazon?" .
The article starts of with a term first used by a New York times columnist the Frightful five, the five biggest companies dominating our lives which are apple, google, Microsoft, amazon and Facebook. And Amazon sits atop this list. The reason i chose this topic is the fact that I am a big fan of what Jeff Bezos has done to grow amazon into the giant it is today and how well he has marketed the company to a point where it has become a part of our everyday life. Amazon's value proposition is "How to create products and services customers want" which is an art they have mastered to a point where they are the best sellers of almost every product out on the market. A key marketing concept to take away from this article is that really good marketing  strategies from amazon has us all convinced to use Amazon products and services so much to the point that we rely on them to be a part of our everyday lives. Currently Amazons operates in several different fields such as cloud computing through amazon web services, artificial intelligence through devices like echo, logistics through Amazon air and their plans to use drones for delivery, Entertainment through prime videos and music services, Food through whole foods and their instant food delivery of fresh foods and retail and e commerce through their online store which has almost every product needed by us. In 1998 Amazon originally only served as online book store and since have grown so big that you can buy almost anything online. A small joke in the article perfectly summarizes the future we are headed towards. The biggest reason for Amazon's success is that they have marketed themselves far better than anyone else on the market. We have put Amazon in a position where we should start thinking about how much power and influence one company has on our life .
